We have recently completed work on a 17th century cottage in rural Worcestershire. the client was keen to match the original windows exactly, but as they are completely renovating and modernising the house, thermal performance and security were a main focus on this project.
The timber sash windows offer a u value of 1.1w/m2k, the casement windows offer 1.2 w/m2k.
The set of French doors to the rear of the property have a multipoint locking system, but have retained features, such as the timeless elegance of the ironmongery, that are so important to a property like this.
